Propose your own project

Alongside our advertised projects, there is another route to PhD funding: you can propose to us a project.

If you plan to do this, do bear in mind that:

• it should sit within one or more of our four broad themes
• you should be able to identify potential supervisors by looking through our list of staff. We aim at cross-supervision between the two institutions
• You are strongly encouraged to contact potential supervisors to seek their assistance in shaping your proposal
• Your proposal will be judged on its intellectual strength, its feasibility and its synergy with the programme’s aims
• The same timeline for applications as for advertised projects applies
