Today — 14th March 2024 – the inspiration behind Knowledge Orders and King’s Director of the programme, Prof. Julia Crick, is giving the thirty-fifth H. M. Chadwick Lecture at the University of Cambridge. Her title is ‘A palaeographer’s vision: the life, times, and work of T. Julian Brown, Professor of Palaeography, University of London, 1960-87’. It is a subject which speaks to one of the motivations of the Knowledge Orders, to understand the tradition of palaeography as a discipline in Britain in order to help it reshape itself for the coming generations.
The lecture takes place at 5pm on Thursday 14 March in room GR06/07, Faculty of English, 9 West Road, Cambridge but will also be live-streamed. More details are available on Cambridge’s Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic website.
