Projects
There are two routes to doctoral funding with Knowledge Orders. One is to apply for one of the advertised projects that have been defined by a supervisory team. The other is an open call, where you propose to us your own project.
Advertised Projects
There are five proposed projects being advertised to begin in autumn 2026. They are:
- The Poetics of Compilation: the materiality of German-language literature, c. 1200
- Prior Eastry’s Memory Palace: organising Canterbury Cathedral’s records
- Remaking History: reproducing the Middle English Prose Brut in the late medieval metropolis
- Researching Lost Copy-texts: the prose letters of John Donne
- Imposing Order on Atrocity: witnessing, memory and strategies of testimony in the 1641 depositions
Open Call
You can propose to us a project which sits within one or more of our four broad themes, and which you believe our large team, across our two institutions, has the expertise to supervise. If you want advice, do not hesitate to contact the programme.
